Educational Engagement
Educational outreach is an important part of our work, because we want to make our work accessible to everyone, and inspire the next generation of scientists.
Primary schools
We deliver accessible sessions on metabolism to students ranging from key stage 1 to key stage 3. These early-age outreach activities include visits to primary schools, where students learn about hormones and their relationship with diet.
We also attend festival-type events such as the IF Oxford science festival. We host interactive sessions introducing the principles of blood sugar regulation, making complex scientific concepts engaging and understandable for young minds.
Secondary schools
We participate in the In2Science summer programme, which pairs young students from under-represented backgrounds with experienced scientists to provide them with hands-on experience in research.
By offering these students this opportunity, we aim to inspire them to pursue their academic and professional goals in science.
